Bulk Bag Discharger

A bulk bag discharger lets one operator empty a full super sack (FIBC) quickly, cleanly and without climbing under a suspended load. The bag hangs from a lifting frame and is lowered onto a dust-tight spout connection. Product then flows into a hopper, screw conveyor, pneumatic conveying line or directly into a mixer or reactor.

TiERMAX builds three main frame styles to match how your plant lifts bags: forklift-loaded frames with a removable bag lifting bar, hoist-loaded frames that work with an existing monorail or crane, and frames with an integrated electric hoist and trolley. Stationary and mobile units are available. Each discharger is matched to your material, bag size, discharge rate and the space available on site.

Bulk Bag Discharger - Models

Our bulk bag dischargers come in several configurations to suit your lifting method, building layout and material. Every model is built for safe, efficient and dust-controlled unloading.

Crane Loading Bulk Bag Discharger

The hoist/crane model works with your existing electric hoist or overhead crane. It offers a cost-effective way to unload bags safely without buying new lifting equipment.

Forklift Loading Bulk Bag Discharger

The forklift model is loaded with a lift truck and a removable bag lifting bar. An adjustable upper frame fits different bag heights, which makes it a flexible choice for many plants.

The integrated hoist model includes its own crane beam and electric hoist. Operators lift and position bags with less manual effort and better ergonomics.

Bulk Bag Discharger - Benefits

A bulk bag discharger safely unloads powders and granules from FIBC bags. It cuts manual handling, improves workplace safety and moves material reliably to the next process step.

Dust-Tight Bulk Bag Unloading

An iris valve or spout clamp seals the bag outlet to the discharger before product flows. A dust-tight docking connection with a vent to your dust collector keeps fines out of the room and in the process. That protects operators, reduces cleanup and limits product loss.

Flow Aids for Difficult Powders

Cohesive powders such as titanium dioxide, carbon black or fine chemicals often bridge in the bag. Bag massagers, vibrating hopper sections and bag tensioners keep material moving until the bag is fully empty, so less product is wasted.

Downstream Integration

The discharger is usually the first step of a larger line. It can feed a screw conveyor, a flexible wall feeder, a vacuum conveying system or a pneumatic conveying system. Load cells under the frame turn it into a loss-in-weight unloader for batching.

Frequently Asked Questions

A bulk bag discharger is a material handling system that safely unloads bulk bags (FIBCs or super sacks) and transfers powders, granules or pellets to downstream equipment.

It improves operator safety, reduces dust, cuts material waste and gives controlled, efficient unloading.

Typical materials include cement, lime, fly ash, silica, carbon black, plastic resins, food ingredients, sugar, salt, starch, fertilizers, pigments and many other bulk solids.

Forklift-loaded, hoist-loaded and integrated-crane designs are available, with manual or semi-automated operation.

The right unit depends on bag size and weight, material behavior, required rate, lifting method, dust control needs and the downstream process.

Yes. Bag massagers, vibrators and other flow aids help cohesive or poorly flowing powders discharge completely.

Yes. It can feed screw feeders, pneumatic and vacuum conveyors, sieves, mixers, silos and packaging lines as part of a complete line.

Bulk bag dischargers are common in food, chemical, pharmaceutical, plastics, mineral, agricultural and building materials plants.

Yes. The simple design gives easy access for cleaning, inspection and routine maintenance, which keeps operating costs low.

Yes. Options include stainless steel construction, load cells, dust-tight connections, bag conditioning and explosion-protected designs. Hazardous-location requirements are reviewed for each U.S. project.
